Board of Health meeting with no quorum

City of Lubbock Board of Health was unable to get a quorum for it's monthly meeting. Kae Hentges of Ch.11 is chairwoman and former Med School Dean Ted Hartman and former Med School Dermatology nurse Josie Alvarado are also on this board. Alvarado was one of several members absent and a quorum was not in attendance. This meeting also had a budget presentation that would have nearly a million dollar cut in Health Department budget proposed by Lee Ann Dumbauld to deal with severe drop in sales tax revenue. Patrick Aten of Lee Ann Dumbauld's staff was in attendance as well as Nancy Haney of City Health Department. This editor was there in addition to Ch.11 and Ch.34 camera crew and some "girlie" reporter from AJ. Meeting had to be adjourned at 1PM and no official business was conducted. Both Ted Hartman and Kae Hentges claimed this was first time a Board of Health meeting failed to get quorum. City Board/Commission/Committee meetings are now becoming as organized as "The Three Stooges" in "Dumb Klucks". Kae Hentges has proven that she's a typical semi-competent Ch.11 phony baloney as Board of Health chairwoman. Another total breakdown by City of Lubbock "volunteer knucklehead" board. Thx,Kae!!

Red light cams get "no go" in Abilene

Abilene,Texas - Steps taken to reduce red-light running in Abilene have worked so well that City Council members agreed with a consultant’s report Thursday that there isn’t a need — at least now — for cameras aimed at catching red-light runners to be installed.(Doug Myers/Abilene Reporter News)______

Abilene City Council,led by Norm "shady lawyers" Archibald, has decided to forego red light cams that have voluntary tickets if car registrations are not blocked for non-payment. Archibald is not overly sharp but must feel the "anti-red light cam" atmosphere could get him voted out of office.

Volunteering For City Commissions and Boards Is Unwise

City of Lubbock has a corrupt commission and board systems that is used by city staff and city council to use local citizens for "front groups" to funnel dumb ideas or off the wall ideas to city council. This system is as big a hoax as there is in big government. I've personal attended many of these meetings and citizens input is actually not allowed in many meetings(no public remarks) and public remarks was removed at almost every committee I attended after I addressed some of the committees trying to contribute ideas. These committees/commissions/boards are made up of friends,cronies and other groupies of city council/city staff and are nothing more than free coffee/donuts social meetings with nothing tangible to be accomplished. City actually discriminates against county residents who pay sales taxes even though city charter only prohibits county residents from serving on LP7L Board. Floyd Price AND Becky Garza have even went as far as to "blatantly lie" that city charter prohibits county residents from serving as a volunteer on these committees/boards. This editor reviewed charter and both Mr.Price and Ms.Garza were disproved in their "blatant misrepresentation". Bottom line,Don't waste your time volunteering to serve on any City of Lubbock board,commission or committee.
