City caught in right-of way boondoggles with out of town corporations

LCR EXCLUSIVE!

City of Lubbock meets today instead of Thursday. Rumor has the CAC committee NOT recommending a soccer fields bond. City normally does business on Thursday but will do the people's business on Tuesday for unknown reason. Today's agenda has some "very interesting" expenditures on it. Local media will not report these details and that's a "damn shame".
Here they are.

City will pay Circle R Lawn of Lubbock $147,000 to fertilize 1650 acres of parks department property. That's $89 per acre.
City will purchase material handler for ballparks turf maintainence for $37,000.
City will pay Kirkpatrick Architecture of Denton,Tx. $390,000 for a study to renovate the City Bank Auditorium with future improvements to be funded later.
City will pay Siemens $100,000 for a filtration system of water of Lake Alan Henry water.
City will pay HDR of Austin $122,000 for Phase One of Macmillian Dam that forms Buffalo Lake.
City Right of Way acquisitions:
1. Ronnie Byrd property at 1709 Glenna Goodacre Blvd/802 Av.Q. $28,000 for 1,893 sq ft.
2. SCS Finance of Delaware property at 802 Ave Q,$289,000 for 3,688 sq.ft.
3. Travelers Inn property at 714 Av.Q,$385,000 for 3,688 sq.ft.
City will buy 4 traffic signal heads for $32,000($8,000 each)
City also has received $1,666,437 grant from Texas Department of Housing and Community Development. They now will spend $50,000.

City will "get fleeced" voluntarily for SCS Finance and Travelers Inn property to the tune of $674,000 when in fact the property should be worth $112,000 if the city paid twice what Ronnie Byrd accepted. He got $28,000 for his parcel and their's should have been worth twice as much since their's was twice as big. City appears to have squandered over $550,000 on these two parcels combined. That a "cute" half million dollars leaving Lubbock economy to widen Glenna Goodacre Blvd.

It's "Our Money" being squandered!!
